The minimum order for mainland UK and Northern Ireland is 500 litres of oil.

Most boilers in the UK use standard Heating Oil (Kerosene). Some boilers can use Gas Oil (Red Diesel). Please refer to your boiler manual if you are unsure. You can also choose to order Heating Oil with an additive for improved performance.

  • Normal Tanker (6 Wheel) - Select this if you have no access issues to your property or oil tank.
  • Small Tanker (4 Wheel) - Required if you have tight corners, bridges, or vehicle restrictions. About 10 feet wide and 25 feet long.
  • Baby Tanker (4 Wheel) - For very difficult access with low overhead structures or very narrow lanes. About 8 feet wide and 16-18 feet long.
If unsure, select Normal and add a note in the Special Instructions when ordering. Your supplier will contact you if there are any concerns.

Delivery times vary by supplier and product. Products are listed with their delivery timeframes (e.g. "3 working day delivery"). Working days exclude weekends and bank holidays. Orders placed after 2pm are treated as the next working day.

Yes. All orders are processed over a secure HTTPS connection. When you place an order, the supplier will contact you to arrange payment directly. Fueltool does not process payments - we simply connect you with the cheapest supplier.

Yes. Once you create an account, you can log in to view your order history, compare previous prices, and track your spending over time.

Domestic heating oil is charged at 5% VAT. Heating oil used for business is charged at 20%. Prices on Fueltool are shown per litre excluding VAT, with the VAT-inclusive total shown before you order.

There is a meter on the tanker which measures how much oil has been delivered. All meters are set, sealed and checked by Trading Standards, and you receive a printed readout of the exact amount delivered.

No. As long as the delivery vehicle has easy access to your property and your oil tank, you don't have to stay in. Add any access notes in the Special Instructions when you place your order.

High demand, bad weather, the price of crude oil and world events all have a knock-on effect on heating oil prices. Prices are usually lowest outside the heating season, so filling your tank when demand is low tends to cost less.

Suppliers pay Fueltool a small commission on the orders that come through the site, under a penny a litre and the same rate for every supplier. You pay the supplier directly, so the price you see is the price you pay. There are no fees for customers and no paid placements.
